Day 1: Arrival to Asuncion | In the fervent colonial days, many conquerors used to departure from Asunción to explore the ignote lands of the new world, not without going around the city first, so that good luck with accompany them. We get to Asuncion and like the conquerors, go around the city to get good luck, while we enjoy the stories and charments of this city.
Day 2: Laguna Capitan* | We travel to the center of the Chaco, to the eco reserve Laguna Capitán (Capitan Lagoon), where its salty waters serve as a resting area for thousands of migratory birds, like the flamencos.
Day 3: Laguna Gral. Diaz / Chacoan Farm * | We depart to the still mysterious Paraguayan Pantanal and, on our way, pass by salty lagoons and thorny forests. Soon we run into a sea of Karanda’y Palms (Copernicia alba), favorite place of the majestic Javiru Storks and American Wood Stork, in addition to other aquatic birds of the Pantanal and the notorious South American crocodile. We spend the rest of the day at a farm, home of the largest natural lagoon of the Chaco, the Gral. Díaz Lagoon. We walk, horseback ride, and enjoy this hidden paradise.
Day 4: Fuerte Olimpo – Pantanal of the Navileque * | From the historical Fuerte Olimpo, we part in an excursion with motorboats that take us to the Pantanal, entering from the Navileque River. The wild exuberance of the place will amaze you. We get stuffed with fruits of the river, presented through exotic recipes, such as the piranha soup that, according to the villagers, has aphrodisiac qualities! Just in front of the Paraguay River, the balconies of our hotel will be the best seats to enjoy one of the most beautiful sunrises of the planet.
Day 5: Fuerte Olimpo – Private Reserve of Lagunas Saladas * | We visit the historical fort of the city and the indigenous community of the Chamacocos–Ishir, whom have inhabited this place for thousands of years. After lunch, we get away from the river, heading towards the Mennonite Colony of Filadelfia.
Day 6: Mennonite Colonies - Asuncion | We tour Filadelfia and get to see its small zoo, in addition to one the most important dairy-industry complexes in the country. After lunch, we departure towards Asuncion. At night, we share an exquisite and fun dinner show with typical dishes as a farewell from these beautiful lands.
