Day 1

07:30  ASUNCION – Transfer from your hotel in Asunción to the bus station.

08:15  Departure on board a regula line bus with destination to the city of:

13:00  ENCARNACION. Reception and transfer for accomodation. Lunch. Then, will take a brief visit to the city and a glance of the

“San Roque Gonzalez” bridge. Later, we will be heading toward the ruins of “Trinidad” and “Jesús”. In the afternoon, we will be driving

back to the hotel and there will be free time for personal activities.

 

Day 2

08:00  ENCARNACION. Breakfast at the hotel and free time in the morning. Encarnación. Free time in the morning. We suggest

you take a tour to visit the ruins of “San Ignacio Miní” located in the city of Posadas (Argentina) or a tour to visit the “Yacyretá”

Hydroelectric Dam and its echologic park, and, on our way back to Encarnación, the ruins of “San Cosme y San Damián”.

12:30  Transfer to the Encarnación bus station and boarding on regular line bus to CIUDAD DEL ESTE.

13:00  Departure wit destination to CIUDAD DEL ESTE.

16:30  CIUDAD DEL ESTE. Arrival and reception. Transfer to your hotel in the city of Foz de Yguazú.

 

 

Day 3

08:30  FOZ DE YGUAZU. Breakfast. Then will take a visit to the ITAIPU Dam. The world’s greatest hydroelectric dam. First we will

wacth an informative movie and then we will visit the premises. Later, we will visit the dam’s echo-museum. Transfer for lunch.

 Later on we will be heading toward the YGUAZU WATERFALLS and on our way to this place we will drive across the “Friendship Bridge”

and the National Park. We will also observe the magnificent waterfalls from the footbridge on the Brazilian side. Transfer to the bus

station of Ciudad del Este.

17:00  Departure on board a regular line bus with destination to:

22:00  ASUNCION. Arrival, reception and transfer to your hotel.

Day 1 | Asunción - Filadelfia

We will leave in the morning to the PARAGUAYAN CHACO. On the way we will observe the varied flora ant the life of the existing fauna that will certainly astonish each one of you. There will also be plenty of indian villages along the road and the PAI PUCU school, built with palm trees,will also astonish those who can see it. Arrivall to the city of FILADELFIA. We will stay at the Florida hotel. Then, we will visit BOQUERON(*), which was the most important military base during the war against Bolivia; we will also visit its trenches and huts. According to the weather conditions, we may also visit YALVE SANGA (*), an indian village. At night, we will take a guided journey through the jungle.

 

Day 2 | Filadelfia – Loma Plata – Colonias Mennonitas

After breakfast we will take a trip to visit the cities of FILADELFIA and LOMA PLATA, main cities of two prosperous colonies of the MENNONITES.

We will be visiting museums, industries, shops, etc. Later, we will continue with our trip to LAGUNA CAPITAN(*), a modern livestock establishment, ISLA POI(*), a military base during the war against Bolivia, LAGUNA SALADA, LAGUNA FLAMENCO. Back trip to the hotel.

 

Day 3 | Filadelfia - Asunción

Breakfast and visit to the NEULAND colony and its outskirts. After lunch, we will be driving back to Asunción.

In the afternoon, Boat Ride on the Formoso River, a tour ride in special boats for eleven people per boat in a 6 kms circuit sailing in one of the main rivers of the region. During the ride, the boats cross three waterfalls and two water rapids. You will see birds and animals that get close to drink water from the river. Includes life jackets and all requires equipment.
Return to the hotel at the end of the day. Dinner and free night for personal activities.

 

Day3: Bonito
Breakfast at the hotel and the whole day to enjoy the best of Bonito.
As a first, the tour to the Gruta Azul. After 250 meters of walking in the forest and approximately 300 meters of descent in the cave throw Natural ladders, you will find a lake with water. Nobody is certainly right where the water comes from but it believed there is an underground river, the marvelous shapes that nature had made during millions of years ago will amazed us.
After that we will know the fantastic under water world, Snorkel in the clear waters. A tour ride on the Sucuri River.  Located in San Gerardo Hacienda. After having all the snorkel equipment (Neoprene suit, mask snorkel) lead by a tour guide, the tourist starts with a 15 minutes walking knowing the Rio Sucuri rising, appreciating the fauna and flora of the area. During this path, there will be a couple of stops to see the forest from the different viewpoints. Next to that, the snorquel in the clear waters with a huge diversity of fish and flora. Day1 – Asuncion – Fortin Patria Lodge

The flight over the Paraguay River will let us travel on the main column of wetlands the largest in the world, admiring on the right site the amazing Paraguayan Pantanal and on the left site the Brazilian one. During the flight we will cross over specific places in where we will reach to see and discuss about it importance, one of this place is a unique natural stage well know as a FECHO DE LOS MORROS O PAN DE AZUCAR (Locked up Hills or Sugar Bread) in which it was painted in oil painting by the Italian artist Guido Boggiani around the year 1892, he was a scientist and anthropologist who felled in love on the Paraguay`s Indians around the end of 19 century. Prepare your cameras because from this kind of landscapes there are few in the world left. The tour guide will explain us the huge importance that the rocky formation has for the pantanal (it is the key to discover the secret of Pantanal), Also we will flight over The Tres Hermanos Hills (Three Brothers) on the colorful city of Fuerte Olimpo, it is a natural paradise port where one of the first fort of south America was built during the colony. There still are Indians in that area, the same ones that Guido Boggianni met.
We arrive to Fortin Patria Ranch getting familiar with the place that will be our home for 3 days. This paradise located in the middle of one the last natural places in the earth. We have lunch and a short nap getting ready for the beginning of our real adventure, a photographic safari throw the paths of the ranch  to identify footprints and if we have luck also to see the fauna of pantanal on it habitat. On the night after dinner a POWER POINT presentation by the tour guides to know the marvelous ecosystem of Pantanal, in where we already saw part of it but, the next day it will let us see totally.
Our sunsets and sunrises will be unique, probably the most beautiful ever, so as a recommendation do not miss any of them. There will be time to sleep, star-shaped nights(never will see in any other part of the world so many starts, LA VIA LACTEA “Milking Way” will show us it magnitude) they will be our beautiful silent partners.
Most of the tropic and neo-tropic fauna, in general, have more activities during the sunset or the night, so with reflectors we will leave to find and see them.

 

Day 2 – Fortin Patria Lodge
Breakfast early in the morning.
If you want to enjoy the fauna and nature, in the general
the best moments are during the sunrise or the sunset. Help by sliding boats we will reach to the real and Pantanal, sailing the winding and mysterious Negro River (Black River) getting further from the civilization, during the boat ride we will arrive to the triple border between Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay and start sailing in these mysterious water of this river, a real wild life paradise, one of the few on earth left. The rive in every part and moment will show us it marvels, we will see some toucans crossing the river and if we are lucky some red and blue macaws overflying the area, bird flock eating in the lagoons or the sand around the sailing, or maybe some caimans on the riverside, Flock of birds will be our partners on this tri, more than 453 of different species were identified in this area.

We will also visit on the way the ECO-LODGE, the three giants that belongs to one of the biggest organization of preservation in the country, that it has as a main goal protect this area. We travel throw some of the paths to see birds and animals footprints help by specialist, if we are lucky we probably will see any mammal. Lately, after lunch, we leave in canoes (CAYAK TYPE) to continue our trip getting closer to the fauna and it inhabitants that let us see themselves on daylight.

Then, we get prepare for nightlight activity returning to Fortin Patria Ranch, see the fauna with reflectors but in this time on our boats and  see the animal located on the riverside, as we mentioned before most the neo-tropic mammals have nocturne habits easier to see on the night, if we are lucky we will see the King of Pantanal (The Onza Panther or Jaguarete) the biggest feline in south America and the most mysterious in the world, we are not sure but there is a huge possibility to see it, we have to be prepare to see it because is a fast animal, after that, we will see lots of red light, there are not back lights from a car, they are the caimans’ eyes  who are hunting in the river, a lot of adrenaline isn’t!!

 

Day3
After breakfast we can go fishing, catching some Piranhas in where there are plenty of it. Have during the midday a Piranha soup a real aphrodisiacal and energizer dish according to the locals. We start sailing on Negro River heading to the north getting and knowing better in this place, searching for the best hidden secrets

After lunch a short nap a little by little we start waking up from this journey of dreams. Then our returning trip.

Mbaracayu

The Mbaracayu Reservation, with its approximately 65,000 hectares, counts with a birds list higher than the 430 species, more than 5% of all the existing species of the world, which represent approximately 60% of the species mentioned for Paraguay.

Among them, we can find the “gua’a pytá” or red parrot (Ara chloroptera), the “yruvú ruvichá” or royal vulture (Sarcoramphus papa), the “yacupetí” (Pipile jacutinga), the cinnamon face woodpecker (Dryocopus galeatus) and other species which are also endangered.

The mythical and almost extinct bell bird (Procnias nudicollis) becomes a real icon of this area, since its song can often be heard in this area as well as the song of many other exotic birds, which led the Bird Life International to grant it with the name of IBA (Important Bird Area).

 

Day 1 | Asunción – Jejui Mi “Mbaracayu Reservation”     

Departure on board of a Mini-Van – Mini-Bus or 4x4 Van heading to the Mbaracayu Woods Reservation.

Arrival, reception and lodging in shacks for three, four or six people.

 

Day 2 | Jejui Mi - “Mbaracayu Reservation”

After breakfast, we will walk through the Jacupeti path, then practice boating canotaje by the Jejui Mi river on board of special  boats and we will also walk through the  Aguara-i path. As an optional activity, there will be tirolesa and swimming at the Jejui Mi river. Lunch. Optional at 13:15. Departure to visit the Arroyo Bandera (Flag Creek) Aché Indian community.

Activities: Option A) Departure heading toward the Aguara-ñu observatory, obervation from the observatory,  then return and stop at Lagunita, tour through the MOROTI path and observation from the observatory. Option B) Departure heading toward Lagunita on Mountain Bikes, riding 13 Km.  The silent ride on top of bikes increases considerably the chances to observe birds and mamals. Observation from the observatory and tour through the MOROTI path.  Back to the lodging house. Free time to learn about the story of the “Moises Bertoni Foundation” and its works. Dinner.

Day 3: Mbaracayu Reservation – Carapa Waterfalls - Asunción.

Breakfast.  Delivery of “Adopt one hectare” material and visitor’s certificate. Departure heading toward the Carapa Waterfalls. Tour through the path on our way to the waterfalls. Descent for the most daring ones to the base of the waterfalls. Visit to the Observatory. Back to Villa Ygatimi for lunch. Departure heading back to Asunción.

Day 1 | Asuncion - Historical city tour, with an option to go shopping.

 

Day 2 | Asuncion – Colonia Independencia – Salto Suizo

The Ñandutí lace is the symbol of the town of Itaguá, as the Aó Po`íembroidery is the symbol of Yataity. Visiting the shops of the artisans where these traditional Paraguayan fabrics are manufactured will be a cultural experience of high value. The city of Colonia Independencia will receive us at lunch time. Colonized mostly by German immigrants and other European countries, Colonia Independencia has developed a distinct urban scheme from other towns in the region. Half way through the 20th century, a farmer of Swedish origin inhabited the place that today is known as Suizo Fall, a water fall of about 50 meters of heights that hides in a bubble of gallery forests. Various options at this site: mountainbiking our way up to the water fall, descending the falls by rappel or climbing the Cerro de la Cruz (Hill of the Cross).

 
Day 3 | Colonia Independencia - Cordillera of the Ybytyruzu – Acatí Hill - Ita letra

Slopped dirt roads, surrounded by frondose flora, ascend to the Acati Hill, at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level. We are at the fabulous Cordillera of Ybytyruzu. From the top of the hill, the horizon draws a landscape of the mountains with panoramic views of small rural communities.  After a farm-style lunch, we descend by a rustic path that connects us with a place called Ita Letra: rocky formations with mysterious runic, pre-Columbian inscriptions, whose origins are still being estimated by scientists.

 

Day 4 | Tebicuary-mi River - Tres Kandú Hill- Yataity –Maria Auxiliadora Farm

The Tebicuary River is perfect to enjoy canoe trips. The gallery forests surrounding the area will accompany us with their verdancy and their fauna. Later, we will ascend up to the highest point in Paraguay: the top of Tres Kandú Hill. From its 850 meters of height, the landscapes of the zone are even more beautiful. Next, we visit the dynamic city of Villarrica, whose picturesque streets are great for a stroll. We get to the town of La Colmena at night and stay at a lodge near the Ybycuí National Park.

 

Day 5 | Maria Auxiliadora Farm –  Caraí-mi Fall – Ybycui National Park

Walking through woody paths, we get to the Caraí-mi Stream. Water falls, natural pools and walls of rocks formed by geological faults create a unique place. The contemplation of nature combines with baths in pools of natural waters.

 

Day 6 Crystal Fall – Ybycuí National Park - The Rosada

It will be necessary to go through a 17 Km road trip, to descend 30 meters of gallery forests and to walk 100 meters of streams in order to get to the magnificent Crystal Fall that, with a cascade of 60 meters, is special to practice rappel. Later, we will visit the Ybycuí National Park, watered with crystalline streams that form cascades, falls, and natural pools. Paths that cross natural gardens take us through rocks, ferns and orchids. We end the day with a visit to the reconstructed ruins of La Rosada, place of the first steel foundry in Paraguay and South America.

In the afternoon we will walk through the “adventure” echological path and a tour through the creek to arrive to the main waterfall. There, we will be able to enjoy the natural waterfalls and practice Tirolesa, crossing the natural pool of approximately 50 meters long. Back to the lodge. Rest and dinner. Optional activities of bonfire or night walking.

 

Day 2:  Maria Auxiliadora Field – Cristal Waterfall

After breakfast, we will be heading toward the Cristal Waterfall. We will descent the hill through an echological path and then, walking upstream through the creek, we will arrive to the imposing Cristal Waterfall. The Rapel activities will be performed on a wall that is approximately 30 meters long. We will be able to enjoy nature and the natural pool. Light lunch and return to the lodge. Free time to enjoy the sunset. Birds watch.

 

Day 3: Maria Auxiliadora Field – Asunción

Breakfast and tour through the echological path. Arrival to the creek and descent on gomones  up to the main pool. Lunch and then setting-up to return to Asuncion.

Day 1: Asunción –  Colonia Independencia - Salto Suizo - Cerro Acati - Ita Letra 
Early morning departure to Colonia Independencia visiting the 50 meter “Salto Suizo” (Swiss Waterfall), a magical place.
Then the tour will explore the low zone area of the waterfalls, where a natural pool has been formed.  A walk through the
high zone area of the waterfalls will follow. This is characterized by a closed bamboo vegetation.  At this site, rappel or climbing
to “Cerro Cruz” (Cross Hill) are part of the options available.   Lunch will be served at Colonia Independencia. 
In the afternoon, a sand road trip to the 650 meter Cerro Acati (Acati Hill) passing through the “Cordillera of Ybytyruzu
(Ybytyruzu Range Hills), where a myriad of different flora, crystal clear streams, beautiful landscapes and rural communities
will be experienced in this mountainous region.  Afterwards, the tour will go through a rough path to arrive to “Ita Letra”
where we will see the mysterious pre-Columbian runic inscriptions, which are still being studied to determine their origin. 
Next, a short walk around Colonia Independencia, which has was formed mainly by German and European immigrants,
creating singular urban characteristics in the region. Finally, the tour will return to the hotel and dinner.

 

Day 2: Colonia Independencia - Cerro Tres Kandu - Yataity
Very early in the morning the tour will go to the 850 meter “Cerro Tres Kandu”, the highest elevation in Paraguay. 
By car it is possible to reach to 650, but the most adventurous will be able to go to the top by walk and appreciate
the unique landscape surrounding the breathtaking landscape. From there the tour will continue on to “Villarrica” an
important productive area, which is the capital capital of the Department of Guaira. A small walking tour will be available.
Lunch will be served in this old city full o history.  Then the tour will make a stop in the city of Yataity, famous by her
typical “Ao’Poi” embroideries. Departure to Asuncion. Arrival to the hotel and end of the tour.
